Photography has been a passion all my life. It began back in grade school. My grandfather had some old darkroom equipment and an old camera. We set up a darkroom and had a ball. It has payed off as I was high school photographer for the yearbook staff at Ludington High School. I then attended College at Western Michigan University were I got a job as student photographer for News Services. I covered everything from alumni functions to graduations, but mostly sports. In college is where I got the urge to start a sports action photography business.

Well with the advancement of digital equipment and another 12 years of experience, I started my dream job, well moonlight job that is. J Gould Photography has begun as mostly sports action photography, but I hope to grow it into a full time venture offering all areas of photography. I have the full support of my family even though I spend a lot of my spare time working.
